The international design community held nothing back when it came to creating eZ80Acclaim!-based designs for the Zilog 2004 Flash Nets Cash Design Contest. Submissions were as diverse as an I/O simulator, an arbitrary waveform generator, and a programmable infrared controller. No wonder the judges had a hard go of it choosing the best of the best. The high number of top-notch designs made their job especially challenging.

Congratulations are in order for all of the winners, especially Lionel Theunissen, whose PolyMoniCon wireless monitor and control system won the Grand Prize. He designed the eZ8F6401Encore!- and eZ80Acclaim!-based application to monitor the throughput of coins in multiple arcade machines. Talk about thinking outside the box! It’s that kind of creativity that made this contest so competitive. Thanks to everyone to who took part.
