Featured Wireless Design Challenge Device: MC13191/92/93

The core of your design should feature one of the following 2.4-GHz transceivers:

  • MC13191 for proprietary point-to-point or simple star networks using Freescale's Simple MAC (SMAC) software
  • MC13192 for IEEEŽ 802.15.4-compliant networks using Freescale's IEEE 802.15.4 MAC software
  • MC13193 for ZigBee™-Compliant networks using the Figure 8 Wireless Z-stack ZigBee™ software

Each design also must contain one or more Freescale breakaway board sensors (MMA1260D, MMA6261Q, MPXM2010GS, and MC33794) and a low-voltage, low-power HCS08 MCU.

The MMA6261Q is a Surface micromachined 1.5 g XY-Axis acceleration sensor that monitors tilt, movement, positioning, shock, and vibration perpendicular to the board in two directions.

The MMA1260D is a surface micromachined 1.5 g Z-Axis acceleration sensor that monitors tilt, movement, positioning, shock, and vibration parallel to the board.

The MC33794 is an e-field imaging IC that generates a low-level electric field and detects changes when a capacitive object enters the field.

The MC33993 is a multiple-switch detection interface device that independently monitors the open/close status of up to 22 switches.

The MPXM2010GST1 is a compensated pressure sensor with highly accurate linear voltage output directly proportional to the applied pressure.
