Computer of Nuclear Weighing System for Conveyors
An
LPC2132 microcontroller, a sealed radioactive source, a detector,
an LCD, and a power supply comprise this effective measurement
system. The system weighs material on a conveyor belt without
direct contact. The scale measures the mass of the material
by the amount of radiation that passes through it. The ionization
chamber, or detector, converts the radiation measurement into
a frequency signal that’s proportional to the radiation field.
The measurement computer then factors in variables such as the
conveyor belt’s speed in order to determine an accurate total
weight.
