Moving Parts HMI
The
No Moving Parts HMI (human-machine interface) is designed
for industrial environments. The MC33794 e-field sensor
detects the effects of a person’s hands on eight input
devices. The input devices are built around electrodes
designed to produce responses to human interaction in
either digital or analog fashion. The HMI controls an
industrial system with two axes of motion. Two analog
speed control inputs and six digital switches comprise
the system. The digital switches (three for each of
the axes of motion control) control forward, reverse,
and speed maintenance. Because the input devices have
no moving parts, they will yield a longer service life
in industrial environments, where dust, dirt, and repeated
activation require high durability.
