Antitheft
Suitcase
The
Antitheft Suitcase is modeled after security briefcases
used by jewelers. A piece of metal foil under the handle
is connected to an MC33794 e-field sensor to sense when
someone is carrying the briefcase. Three metal tabs
connected to three e-field electrodes serve as keypads
to enter the arm/disarm codes. Using a proximity electrode,
the device can sense the suitcase’s distance from its
owner. The MC68HC908 microcontroller-based system sounds
a buzzer alarm to alert if the suitcase is either picked
up by the handle or carried a preset distance from the
owner.
